Georgie, Lissa and Bronwyn have been best friends since they met on their college swimming team。 Now Lissa is dead - drowned off the coast of the remote island where her second husband owns a luxury resort。 But could a star open-water swimmer really have drowned? this was good and I enjoyed the final twist at the end but at one point there was a typo in Georgie’s name and the thing with the serpent kind of threw me off

I'm only giving this 3 stars because I was compelled to read more and figure out the plot, however this book was just truly unhinged。 Lexie Elliott does the psychotic antagonist very well。。。this one was just too much。 It was a rollercoaster of bad decisions, and the ending just confirmed a suspicion I had throughout。 Overall, just kind of disappointing。 I'm only giving this 3 stars because I was compelled to read more and figure out the plot, however this book was just truly unhinged。 Lexie Elliott does the psychotic antagonist very well。。。this one was just too much。 It was a rollercoaster of bad decisions, and the ending just confirmed a suspicion I had throughout。 Overall, just kind of disappointing。 。。。more

I really loved The French Girl, so I had high hopes for this one。 I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I would。 I guess it was a bit predictable, but it was an easy thriller to read。 I'd say this might be an excellent book to bring on your beach vacation, because the book has an exotic beach setting。 I just struggled a bit with the characters, so for me if the characters don't click with me, then I find it hard to be invested。 I really loved The French Girl, so I had high hopes for this one。 I enjoyed it, but not as much as I thought I would。 I guess it was a bit predictable, but it was an easy thriller to read。 I'd say this might be an excellent book to bring on your beach vacation, because the book has an exotic beach setting。 I just struggled a bit with the characters, so for me if the characters don't click with me, then I find it hard to be invested。 。。。more

2。5。 im not sure if this book was such a chore to get through because of all that i had going on whilst reading it or if it just didn't intrigue me enough。 it felt like i knew what the ending would be the whole time and was just inching towards getting there。 the thing i cared most about wasn't finding out the mystery of who was guilty and of what, but georgie and adam's relationship。 which even then wasn't entirely captivating。 it never takes me this long to finish a 300 page book, even conside 2。5。 im not sure if this book was such a chore to get through because of all that i had going on whilst reading it or if it just didn't intrigue me enough。 it felt like i knew what the ending would be the whole time and was just inching towards getting there。 the thing i cared most about wasn't finding out the mystery of who was guilty and of what, but georgie and adam's relationship。 which even then wasn't entirely captivating。 it never takes me this long to finish a 300 page book, even considering the fact that i've been traveling。 overall just :/ 。。。more

Lissa, Bronwyn and Georgie have been best friends for years through their love of swimming。 Lissa, the strongest swimmer of the group unexpectedly drowns off the island resort she and her husband recently bought。Georgie missed the reunion so wasn’t there when Lissa dies but travels there for the funeral。The story is told through Georgie and Bronwyn’s POV which help to build the tension and fear between them , particularly when bad weather leaves them stranded on the island。How did Lissa die? I'm sorry but by god this book was so dull and boring。It has a great title that made me want to read it thinking I was going to be in for a thrilling ride but I couldn't have been more wrong。The story just didn't work for me。 I was never drawn in or invested in any of the characters and at some parts I had no clue what was going on。Also the chapters are far too long and made me feel like I was wading through treacle。There was a complete lack of tension and thrills。Not for me。 I'm sorry but by god this book was so dull and boring。It has a great title that made me want to read it thinking I was going to be in for a thrilling ride but I couldn't have been more wrong。The story just didn't work for me。 I was never drawn in or invested in any of the characters and at some parts I had no clue what was going on。Also the chapters are far too long and made me feel like I was wading through treacle。There was a complete lack of tension and thrills。Not for me。 。。。more

How to Kill Your Best Friend by Lexie Elliott is a really good read。 Georgie, Lissa and Bronwyn have been inseparable friends since university。 Which is why it is surprising that Georgie has given careful thought as to how to kill Lissa。The story takes place on an exotic island when news of Lisa’s death reaches her friends and they all come together for a memorial to celebrate her life。There are many twists and turns in this story and even at the end, the plot has an even bigger twist。Highly rec How to Kill Your Best Friend by Lexie Elliott is a really good read。 Georgie, Lissa and Bronwyn have been inseparable friends since university。 Which is why it is surprising that Georgie has given careful thought as to how to kill Lissa。The story takes place on an exotic island when news of Lisa’s death reaches her friends and they all come together for a memorial to celebrate her life。There are many twists and turns in this story and even at the end, the plot has an even bigger twist。Highly recommended 。。。more

When I first started reading this book it sounded vaguely familiar, like I had read it before。 I haven't, but it must track similarly to another book (though don't ask me which one because I couldn't tell you)。 A group of college friends get together to mourn the death of another swimming friend who was thought to have gotten caught in a rip tide and pulled out to sea。 But then strange things start happening and maybe all isn't what they seem to be。 Strange things begin to happen on the island: When I first started reading this book it sounded vaguely familiar, like I had read it before。 I haven't, but it must track similarly to another book (though don't ask me which one because I couldn't tell you)。 A group of college friends get together to mourn the death of another swimming friend who was thought to have gotten caught in a rip tide and pulled out to sea。 But then strange things start happening and maybe all isn't what they seem to be。 Strange things begin to happen on the island: rooms being broken into, mysterious notes left behind, a late night attack。 All of the hotel guests have left the resort leaving behind the 5 friends and a few hotel staff。 It all comes to a head during a torrential rain storm which brings everything out into the open。 In the end, what actually happened to Lissa comes to light, Brownyn's secret is set free, and Georgie may finally get a happy ending。 However, the events that occurred on the last night on the island veer too much toward the unbelievable to really give a good ending to the story。 。。。more

A Remarkable read!I loved this story and the way it was written。 Glad to find this author。 I never did figure out who was doing what。 A thrilling story of some longtime college friends getting together at a resort on an exotic island。 The resort is owned by one of the friends。 Secrets and lies and a sea serpent。 Drownings and murder。

The back of the book starts us off as the story means to go on by describing one method of killing your best friend。 These carry on throughout the narrative and provide a funny and slightly macabre interlude。 We are told the story of Lissa’s death through the eyes of her two best friends, Georgie and Bronwyn。 The trio were friends from College who met through a swimming team。 The group of friends and Lissa’s husband have been brought back together for Lissa’s memorial after her sudden death by d The back of the book starts us off as the story means to go on by describing one method of killing your best friend。 These carry on throughout the narrative and provide a funny and slightly macabre interlude。 We are told the story of Lissa’s death through the eyes of her two best friends, Georgie and Bronwyn。 The trio were friends from College who met through a swimming team。 The group of friends and Lissa’s husband have been brought back together for Lissa’s memorial after her sudden death by drowning。 Neither Georgie or Bronwyn know who they can trust or if anyone will find out their secrets。 I enjoyed reading the story from the two different perspectives and the descriptions of open water swimming around the remote island。 There are several twists and turns which keep the momentum of the story flowing and provide a lot of entertainment。 The book explores the various relationships between the friendship group but leaves the reader guessing who the main protagonists can actually trust。Without including a spoiler, I rushed through the last few chapters as I had to know the truth of what had happened。 A great holiday read for sitting in the sun and looking suspiciously as your best friends in case they have a motive for murder! Thanks to Midas PR for a complimentary copy of the book in return for an honest review。 。。。more

One of the characters in this book buys a 'no thought required airport thriller', ironically this is exactly what it is。 I enjoyed it, I wanted to know what happened in the end and the dual perspective kept it interesting。 However, the twists and turns didn't really shock me。 One of the characters in this book buys a 'no thought required airport thriller', ironically this is exactly what it is。 I enjoyed it, I wanted to know what happened in the end and the dual perspective kept it interesting。 However, the twists and turns didn't really shock me。 。。。more

Three friends met in college - Lissa, Georgie, and Bronwyn - the girls were super close especially Lissa and Georgie。 Years have passed and now Lissa is dead, this has surprised Georgie as first Lissa's first husband died years ago and now Lissa had remarried and seemed happy with her new husband。 If anything, Georgie would have seen Lissa doing the killing not being the one killed。 Georgie learns that Lissa was swimming and drowned, but no body has been found。 This strikes Georgie as strange as Three friends met in college - Lissa, Georgie, and Bronwyn - the girls were super close especially Lissa and Georgie。 Years have passed and now Lissa is dead, this has surprised Georgie as first Lissa's first husband died years ago and now Lissa had remarried and seemed happy with her new husband。 If anything, Georgie would have seen Lissa doing the killing not being the one killed。 Georgie learns that Lissa was swimming and drowned, but no body has been found。 This strikes Georgie as strange as Lissa was a championship swimmer and drowning is not a way she would go。 While Georgie is celebrating Lissa's wake, she receives a strange email from Lissa and then a note that says "follow the money"。 With all this evidence, it looks like Lissa's death was a murder。 When signs start to point though to Bronwyn, it looks like someone is setting her up for Lissa's murder and this sparks Georgie to discover and realize the truth, that something more sinister is at play and goes all way back to the death of Graham - Lissa's first husband and if Georgie isn't careful, just like in their past lives - she might find herself caught up tight in another of Lissa's manic schemes as the truth was you did not want to cross Lissa as her revenge was crazy and could be deadly。 This book had a theme of I know what you did last summer feel to it but for adults as the characters felt in their late 20s-30s。 If you love the beach, revenge, and scheming then check out How to Kill Your Best Friend by Lexie Elliott。 。。。more

Storia piena di intrecci e dal finale decisamente imprevisto。 Forse quello che mi è piaciuto poco è stato un pò la piega assurda che ha preso la trama, decisamente poco realistica。
